EMYT relocating to Vancouver Island. Thank you for your patronage and building a community with me

The last few years have been a wild ride with all of you at Ease of Movement Yoga Therapy and Hot Yoga aka EMYT.  Following the loss of my mother during COVID. Exploring the post COVID beginnings in community and business.  Re-opeing my in home studio and private practice.  Healing from fairly life shifting accidents and injuries and still in the depths of this as I go.  The EMYT community has been very supportive and filled with compassion, empathy and buckets of love.  Believe me when I say this was in both directions with mutual love and healing.  Many of you were witnessing massive shifts in me from the beginning of this.  I am grateful for each and every one of you.  I will miss you all very much.

While I will be on Vancouver Island, some of you have opted to continue online with me and that works well for me too.  COVID has given us the ability to find new ways to access what supports we need and that is wonderful.

This week I will be adjusting my website and the services I offer.  There will no longer be regular yoga classes listed for the time being.  Many of you have opted to see if we can set up an online class once a month or once a week and that can for sure be a thing if it's obviously what you choose and we can work out a time.  You know who you are and if you want to be added please let me know.

In the coming year (Spring 2025), Yoga Therapists will become licensed professionals in BC and across Canada and the United States.  This has been in progress for a very long time.  I have been waiting for this for 30 years now.  We tend to be a little slower at taking on new ideas or different ways we do not understand in North America. Now that North Americans have a better understanding that yoga as therapy can harm and/or heal and that this practice done haphazardly does not sustain.

The power of yoga and yoga therapy is currently in a paradigm shift.  This is all very exciting.  There are standards in education held by the IAYT International Association of Yoga Therapists.  These standards are not met by all programs currently available.  Being licensed will make the lines more clear.  Being licensed will shift our capacity as far as working with ICBC, Worksafe and private insurance plans.  We will be in the mix of rehab practitioners accessible to you in a time when mindfulness/nervous system down regulation may not be an easy thing to accomplish.  As humans we don't generally need these large entities unless we've been impacted heavily with some form of suffering.  Yoga Therapists will be able to support you professionally as part of your team very soon.

This next chapter in my professional life, yoga practice and personal life will remain somewhat unknown in full direction and my husband and I will enjoy witnessing it unfold.  There are some bullet points we know will be for sure doing, feeling and seeing and the rest will just unfold with the universe.

We want to thank you all for your patronage and willingness to learn an ancient practice that just keeps evolving.  It's a vast world yoga and the learning never ends.  No one has all the answers, it's impossible.  I encourage you to explore for yourself.  I encourage you to take with you what serves you and let the rest fall by your waist side when it comes to teachings.  Meaning never limit yourself with dogma.  Yoga Therapy and Yoga practice works highly efficiently applied for each individual and their needs.  Please reach out if you have any questions.  Please let me know if you choose to continue online with me and I will do my best to accommodate your needs/wants.  I look forward to any curiosities or questions.  Otherwise, enjoy your life and until we meet again.....
